Message from the Director: Yes We Can in 2009!

With the start of the new year, I would like to thank you for your continued support of Curriki. So much has already been achieved in the previous year, and yet this is just the beginning. The Curriki community is growing fast, and the site is becoming a powerful resource for students, parents, and teachers worldwide; this community will significantly change the way we think about teaching and learning. I want to share some of our 2008 accomplishments:

  • A growing community of more than 55,000 registered members including teachers, parents and students, with more than 300 working groups
  • On-going content development, with more than 23,000 learning assets and courses uploaded into the Curriki resource repository.
  • Technological improvements for greater ease of use, plus a new home page design and advanced search features
  • Launching the Curriki Review System to review and evaluate curricula from our members by master teachers
  • International initiatives with users and localized content in India, South Africa, Indonesia, Canada and the UK
  • Translation of the Curriki site into Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia and Hindi
  • Awards and recognitions: Tech Award Laureate; Clinton Global Initiative Commitment Member; EdNet Pioneer Awards Finalist
Looking ahead to 2009, Curriki has an ambitious agenda for completing some important projects that will not only grow the resource repository but also will facilitate access to high quality educational curricula. Our continued development and success will require significant input and support from both individuals and organizations. We invite you to keep in touch with us and to help shape the future of education by supporting Curriki. BKurshanSignature.jpg
