About Member Rating
Tutorial: How to Comment & Rate
Member rating on Curriki is just like the ratings you see and use on other web sites where you access content (like YouTube) or products (like Amazon). On Curriki, members can rate resources in the curriculum repository on a scale of 1-5 stars.
This can:![]()
- Provide feedback to a resource’s contributor (especially when the rating includes a comment about what’s strong or what needs improvement).
- Help other Curriki users find high-quality materials (and with comments, perceived strengths and weaknesses).
- Help identify great resources that should be nominated for Curriki Review.
Anywhere you see the average Member Rating for a resource, you’ll also see a parenthetical count next to it; this tells you how many ratings have been applied to determine the average that’s displayed.
When you search for resources, a sortable column shows any existing Member Ratings.

You can also use the Advanced Search filter "Top-Rated by Members" to get results showing only those resources that have received an average Member Rating of 4 or 5 stars, as in:

When you’re viewing a resource, look for the Member Rating feature in the title area, near the Curriki Review display. Here’s an example of a resource that doesn’t yet have a Member Rating:

Note that in the example above, because the resource hasn’t yet received a Member Rating, members can see an "Add a Rating" link below the empty stars.
Here’s an example of a resource that’s received a number of Member Ratings:

When you’re looking at a resource like the one above, you can click the Member Rating stars or the parenthetical count next to them to see all the Member Ratings and comments on the Comments tab.
If you’re a logged in member and you want to rate a resource, you’ll also see the "Add a Comment & Rating" link on the top of the Comments tab, as in:

Click that link to enter your own comment and/or rating!
You’ll be able to see any existing members’ comments and ratings on a resource’s Comments tab. In the example below, you can see displays for a member who rated and commented, one who just rated, and one who just commented.

View Top-Rated Resources The results show all of the resources on Curriki that have been top-rated by members. Use Advanced Search to filter by subject, grade level, or instructional type, or click the headings of the results table to sort. (Please note that this capability became available as of June 2009, so there may not be many top-rated resources for several months thereafter.)
