The content of these interdisciplinary lessons are engaging for students. The lesson is appropriate for late elementary and middle school students, although the procedures can be adapted for use with almost any age. The teacher's lessons are structured in a thoughtful and meaningful way, giving time for reflection and a sequence for implementing a series of experiments into the classroom. Students will come away with a concrete explanation of mummification as well as other implications of this historical process.

What a great idea! Certain to keep students' interest and offers so many possibilities for connections with other subject areas and extensions for deeper understanding. This lesson is well planned out, and the materials seem very accessible and inexpensive.
